About Ken Wootton

Ken Wootton has been pastoring since 1992 and leading Highlands Church in Toowoomba, Queensland, since 2012, where it has grown from a congregation of around a hundred to a church of thousands.

He is Chancellor and Chair of Christian Heritage College, serves on the National Executive of INC, leads the Network Plus community of large churches, coaches leaders through TPDG, and is involved in church planting across Australia. He founded INC Invest, a charitable lending fund that has grown to more than seventy million dollars, and holds an MBA. His first book, Lead Well, is a leadership devotional read by leaders in business and ministry.

Before ministry Ken spent years in the corporate world, and it shows. He preaches in plain language, builds things that last, and has little patience for faith that stays theoretical. His home turf is Hebrews, Romans, John, Acts, Isaiah and Proverbs, and his preaching comes back again and again to three things: faith is built and exercised, vision expands the Kingdom, and you cannot live well until you know who you are in Christ.

Adopted grew out of decades of watching forgiven people live like orphans. Ken wrote it the way he preaches: one idea at a time, a scripture opened up phrase by phrase, a story from the road, and a challenge at the end that does not let you off the hook.

Ken and his wife Moira have led together for more than forty years. They live in Toowoomba, have three adult children and a growing tribe of grandchildren, and have been in the family of God since a night in Sydney in April 1968.
